Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): Expounding that all languages are equal in which the mother tongue constitutes our identity, State Governor PB Acharya has urged the public to respect all languages.
Acharya stated this in his address at the felicitation programme of the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima, on December 4. Stating that India is a democratic country where unity in diversity is the peculiarity of the country, the Governor called upon the members of Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti to be the bridge in linking the people of the country through the national language. He stated that emotional and national integration should be the ultimate goal for the organisation, a statement issued by PRO to Governor stated.
The Governor also called upon the delegates to visit Kisama and the Hornbill festival to know about the culture, traditions and the people of Nagaland. He also congratulated all the toppers and students who have cleared the exams and encouraged them to achieve greater heights. The Governor also appreciated the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti for holding the convocation programme for the first time in Nagaland.
Principal Secretary to the Governor, Pyuish Goya has welcomed all delegates to Kohima and appreciated the work done by the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti to uplift the national language. Goyal also acknowledged the keen interest taken by the Naga students in learning the language.
The programme was attended by members of the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti and students from various parts of the country.
