Wokha, October 31: Governor PB Acharya will attend the Tokhu Emong celebration, premiere festival of the Lotha community on November 7 at Wokha public ground.
This year, the organisers have decided to organise night carnival from November 1 to 7, simultaneously with Tokhü programme on November 4 and 5 and the major event on November 7.
Indigenous games like tug of war, cock fight, catapult shooting, knitting, Naga javelin throw, top spinning, bamboo rifle shooting, bamboo basket making competition, Naga karting, weaving, yodeling competition, greased pole climbing, traditional fire making and clay pot cooking will be witnessed on November 4 and 5.
Local bands and artistes will enthrall audience on musical night and a comedian night on the last day of the event.
An enthusiasts group (Mharenden) of 30s to 50s (age), under the aegis of Lotha Hoho is organising the programme with the view to promote Lotha culture heritage and history.
