Kohima, April 23 (EMN): Under the aegis of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) two-day seminar on “The Battle of Kohima and its impact on India’s freedom” will be held April 25 and 26 at Subhas Stayed House Compound, Ruzazho Village, the first INA Administered Village, under Phek District.
The seminar is being organised by the Pfutsero Government College and jointly co-organized by the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Development Society (NSCBMDS), Nagaland and the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU).
Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya and Governor of Tripura, Tathagata Roy will grace the programme as chief guest and guest of honour respectively, while Subenthung Kithan, President, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) will grace the valedictory session as special guest.
The resource speakers of the seminar are Major General (Retd) Dr. GD. Bakshi; Dr. Purabi Roy, member of ICHR; Dr. Tapan Chattopadhyay, Ph.D. & D.Litt. in History; Dr. Er. Vekho Swuro, chairman of NSCBMDS & Independent Scholar; Abhijit Chaudhury, (Retd) History Professor of St. Edmunds’ College, Shillong; Rev. Savito Nagi, Independent Scholar; Kamal Dutta, Principal of Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Hojai, Assam; Tavezo Latso, Assistant Professor of Pfutsero Government College and Zhokusheyi Rhakho, Assistant Professor of Phek Government College.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Phek Murohu Chotso, will chair the introductory service, welcome note will be delivered by Dr. Moanochet Longchar, Principal of Pfutsero Government College.
The two living witness of the stay of Subhas Chandra Bose and the INA troops at Ruzazho, Chesezu etc. namely-Poswuyi Swuro, (DB) of Ruzazho village and Vezo Swuro (Informer) of Chesezu village will be felicitate by the organisers during the inaugural service.
