Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): The governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya said Bharat Scouts & Guides (BS&G) and Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) should be game changers to identify the beneficiaries for central and state flagship programmes by visiting villages at regular intervals and engage with villagers in regard to cleanliness, literacy and immunisation.
The governor who is also the chief patron of Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS&G) and president of RSB paid a visit to the office of Bharat Scouts & Guides and the directorate of Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) on June 22 in Kohima.
Interacting with the officers and staff of both organisations, in their respective offices, governor said that the Northeast region of India is still lacking in development as compared to the rest of the states in the country. In order to progress, he said ‘we have to strengthen the society’ and called on to play their role towards the development of the state.
Acharya stated that the President of India has urged the governors to convene meetings with empowered organisations from time to time and to inspire them towards social responsibility in the society.
Stating that the strength of the chain lies in the weakest link, he urged the organisation to reach out to beneficiaries and enlighten them on various central and state government schemes available for their benefit. He said that the dormant or hidden energy of both organisations should be utilised to reach out to the people especially those living in the remote areas.
