Dimapur, Aug. 1 (EMN): Former Deputy National Security Advisor RN Ravi, who is also the government of India’s interlocutor for the ongoing talks with various Naga political groups, was sworn-in as the governor of Nagaland at the Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Thursday.
The Raj Bhavan issued a press release informing that Chief Justice (Acting) of Gauhati High Court Arup Kumar Goswami administered the oath of office to Ravi at a brief ceremony attended by Chief Minister Nephiu Rio and his cabinet ministers, Assembly Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshu, Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang and a host of legislators.
Former chief ministers, Dr. SC Jamir and KL Chishi; and Rajya Sabha MP KG Kenye were also in attendance, it informed.
Yepthomi congratulates Ravi
Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland Tokheho Yepthomi has congratulated Ravi for being sworn in as the governor of Nagaland. “The people of Nagaland are very fortunate that for the first time in our decades old political negotiations the state governor will also be the interlocutor for Naga political negotiations,” he said in a statement issued on Thursday.
With Ravi at the “helm of Indo-Naga political negotiations”, the MP hoped that the long overdue political issues would be settled soon.
