Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla released the second edition of Major Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing’s book in Imphal, highlighting his legacy and honouring meritorious students.

IMPHAL — Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Wednesday released the second edition of the coffee table book, ‘The Life of the Unsung Hero – Major Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing’, at a ceremony held at Valley View, Mantripukhri, Imphal.
Earlier, the governor laid a wreath at the memorial of Major Khathing. The programme was attended by John S R Khathing, son of Major Khathing, Major General Gaurav Sharma of Assam Rifles (South), Major General Subhankar Basu, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Mountain Division, along with senior officers and family members.

Addressing the gathering, the governor said the second edition of the book goes beyond recounting the life of an individual and reflects the values of courage, integrity and service associated with nation-building. He highlighted Major Khathing’s contributions as a soldier, administrator and diplomat.
He said the life of Major Khathing offers lessons for the younger generation, encouraging them to draw from his discipline and commitment to public service. He also stressed the role of youth in promoting unity, dialogue and peace.
On the occasion, the Major Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing Meritorious Awards were presented to students who excelled in the Class 10 and 12 examinations.
John S R Khathing also spoke on the life and values of his father, urging young people to uphold integrity and commitment in their pursuits.
