Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): The governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has congratulated a citizen from Pfutsero, Neingupe Marhu, for his exemplary initiative towards cleanliness by voluntarily cleaning the streets of Pfutsero town with his Maruti van which he had converted into a ‘dumpster.”
Likewise, he has lauded two awardees of the Shaurya Chakra.
The governor stated that the initiative not only displays Marhu’s selfless concern but also a sense of responsibility towards the society, a message issued by the PRO to Governor on Saturday stated. The governor is also a national ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
“Governor Acharya encouraged Marhu to continue working for the welfare of the society and also inspire and motivate younger generation to follow his footsteps towards his mission to keep Pfutsero town clean.”
PB Acharya also congratulated Aut Zumvu and Captain EY Jami on their being conferred the prestigious Shaurya Chakra by the President of India in the presence of the Prime minister of India on the 6th of April, 2017 at a glittering function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
“The governor said the two officers have brought pride and laurels to the people of Nagaland and the nation. Stating that the awards appropriately reflects the act of bravery, courage, dedication and promptness of the two officers, the governor encouraged them to continue upholding the values and ideals of the Nagaland police and the Indian Army and continue being an inspiration and encouragement to the younger generation to emulate the exemplary work,” the message stated.
