Dimapur, Oct. 4 (EMN): In a first of its kind programme, the Raj Bhavan Kohima will be hosting children from various orphanages from across Nagaland from Oct. 5-9 where the children along with their coordinators and caretakers will be staying at the Bhavan during their visit to the state capital.
The programme, which is being initiated by Nagaland Governor, PB Acharya and his wife, Kavita Acharya will include invigorating activities like interactions, games, cultural programmes and magic shows, the PRO to governor stated in a press statement.
“Governor Acharya is of the opinion that such out reaching programmes must be must be initiated and the people must play their role in ‘citizen social responsibility’ to make positive change in the society,” the press release quoted the governor as saying.
It is said that there are around 56 numbers of childcare homes with around 586 children in the State with Dimapur district having the highest number on homes.
