Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi on Thursday extended festive greetings to the Angami community on the occasion of Sekrenyi Festival.
Mukhi said that Sekrenyi is an opportunity for the Angami people to ‘celebrate the spirit of togetherness’ and to cleanse oneself of all wrongs and renounce ill-will against each other if any.
“Festival like Sekrenyi has kept the unity of the people, be it in the village or beyond through centuries. I urge the Angami youth to comprehend and carry forward the underlying intellectual, spiritual and philosophical significance of Sekrenyi and revive the positive values, strengthen the spirit of peace and unity,” the governor conveyed.
He further urged to observe Covid-19 protocols throughout the celebrations.
Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio also took to Twitter to extend greetings to the Angami community.
“Sekrenyi greetings to the Angami community. May the festival of purification strengthen bonds of unity and fraternity. I wish you all good health, peace and fruitfulness in all your endeavours. Have a happy and a safe Sekrenyi,” Rio tweeted.
