Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland and Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi extended greetings to the Zeliang community on the occasion of Mileinyi festival.
Mukhi said that Mileinyi is a festival of ‘purification, benefaction, prosperity and longevity’.
Stating that traditional games, dances and songs are an inherent part of this festival, he shared that it provides a platform for young people to carry forward the ‘rich and beautiful cultural legacies of the Zeliangs’.
“Let us continue to observe Covid-19 protocols throughout the celebrations.
On this auspicious occasion, I wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity. God bless Nagaland!,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio also extended Mileinyi greetings to the Zeliang community.
“May the festival of invoking bountiful blessings from God be filled with love and happiness and bring blessings of success in all spheres of life,” Rio conveyed in a Twitter update.
