Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): The governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has congratulated the newly elected office bearers of the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (Enpo) for the tenure 2018-2020. A congratulatory message from the Raj Bhavan was received on Sunday.
In the message addressed to the president of the Enpo, Kekongchim Yimchunger, the governor hoped that the organisation will continue to strive for economic development and social upliftment of the people of eastern area as well as the Nagas.
The governor mentioned that the contribution of any organisations in welfare programmes, development oriented activities, empowering women and weaker sections, protecting the rights of marginalised segments, protecting the environment, spreading literacy and education, etc., are impressive.
Further, Acharya expressed his confidence that Enpo will continue its persistent efforts and approach for economic empowerment of the people to make state a ‘golden Nagaland’.
At the same time, the governor also congratulated president of the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH), Zuchobeni Ezung, and her colleagues’ for the tenure 2018-2022.
Encouraging the women participation, Acharya mentioned that women organisations play a key role in improving the lives of marginalised even in the remotest areas of the country.
The governor iterated to both the organisations that creating more entrepreneurs in the society was the need of the hour. It reduces the burden on job creation and encourages self-sufficiency with the use of minimal and available resources.
Further, he added that identifying and ensuring benefits of the central and the state flagship welfare programmes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Sukanya Samridhi Account, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Mid Day Meal etc., to the targeted beneficiaries was the need of the hour.
