Dimapur, March 29 (EMN): State Governor P.B. Acharya has expressed grive over the demise of veteran leader, hepong Phom, who was elcted as Interim Body Member from Tuensang Assembly Constituency in 1961.
In a condolence message, Governor stated that late Phom was one of the few surviving Nagaland Interim Body members and described him as a prominent social worker and a great human being.
Governor also said late Phom was instrumental in the formation of Nagaland State and had dedicated his life for the welfare of the people of Nagaland in general and State in particular.
“Late Phom’s contributions and sacrifices, even during the turbulent times, for the development of the State will be remembered by all,” he added.
He lamented that his demise is a great loss to the people of Nagaland in general and Phom community in particular. Further, Governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences the the family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
