Governor of Nagaland and Assam P.B. Acharya extended warm greetings to Lotha Naga community on the occasion of ‘Tokhü Emong’ a two-day premier festival beginning from November 6.
In a message, he said that Tokhü Emong, the post-harvest festival, is celebrated to invoke Almighty God’s bountiful blessing for the year long hard labour and also to strengthen unity among the community members. He added that we must also respect our community who were mostly Kisans (Farmers) for their hard labour. “Let us respect and do justice to them”.
The governor appealed to Lotha community to celebrate the festival in its true spirit which will help in keeping old traditions alive.
He wished that celebration of this festival brings joy, peace, and prosperity to the community in particular and people of Nagaland in general and strengthen the bond of love and unity among the people.
In a separate message, Chief Minister TR Zeliang also extended his warmest greetings to Lotha community and wished them a joyous and fruitful celebration.
He hoped and prayed that the celebration of the festival will foster better relations amongst the members of the tribe and that it will create a climate of peace, goodwill and better understanding amongst the people of the State.
