Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Governor PB Acharya has proposed construction of multipurpose community hall for promotion and propagation of cultural activities in the State.
Acharya made this proposal during meeting with the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Culture, Dr. Mahesh Sharma at New Delhi on March 9.
A Raj Bhavan press statement said the MoS assured to look into the issue positively.
A delegation of Japfuphiki Pfutsana Keseko (Indigenous Society Organisation), Nagaland, led by Dr. Lozhoho Khamyo was also present on the occasion.In another programme, the Governor met the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi at New Delhi on March 9 along with a delegation of Japfuphiki Pfutsana Keseko.
They discussed safeguarding the identity, culture and tradition of each and every tribe of the State. The Governor also emphasised on preservation of communities, which are on the verge of extinction.
