Governor beckons students to be ambassadors of peace

Governor, La. Ganesan, has called upon everyone to strive to be ambassador of
peace, unity and integration and work towards building a nation that is united
in its diversity.
- He was speaking during the flag-in ceremony of National
Integration Tour (NIT) for 16 students and teachers from Kohima at Kenguruse
Hall of IGAR (N) in Kohima on Tuesday. The tour was initiated by 13 Assam Rifles, which started on February 4
and concluded on Tuesday after visiting Mumbai, Pune and Goa.
- Reminding that India is a land of unparalleled beauty, rich
traditions and diverse cultures, he opined that it is important to understand
and appreciate each other’s differences while celebrating the shared values. He
expressed hope that the tour experiences have not only broadened their horizons
but also instilled in them a deep sense of pride and appreciation for the
nation’s rich heritage and vibrant present.
- Ganesan also extended gratitude to the Assam Rifles for
their commitment in promoting national integration and for organising the tour
with dedication. He stated that the efforts they put in to nurture the spirit
of unity among the youth are commendable and deserve appreciation.
- “The Assam Rifles have time and again demonstrated their
dedication to the service of our nation and this initiative is yet another
testament to their commitment towards their duty,” he commended.
- He further encouraged more students and teachers to join
such initiatives in the future, citing that such tours are not just about
travel but they are about building bridges, forging friendships and nurturing a
sense of national pride and unity. He added that it is through such initiatives
that one could truly understand and appreciate the diversity that defines the
nations and work towards a future where harmony and understanding prevail.
