Dimapur, August 5 (EMN): The Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, PB Acharya has expressed shock and grief at the demise of the president of DCCI, late Hokivi Chishi, who passed away on August 4 at Eden Hospital, Dimapur.
In a condolence message, the Governor described late Chishi as a person who worked for the uplift and welfare of the business community, renowned social worker and a philanthropist whose works will always be cherished and remembered by all.
His demise is not only a loss to the Sumi community but the Nagas as a whole, said the Governor. While conveying his condolences Governor also pray that the Almighty grant solace and strength to the bereaved family members.
ACAUT: ACAUT while expressing sorrow at the demise of late Hoviki Chishi said “when late Hokivi Chishi DCCI President and founding member of ACAUT summed up the courage to report on the plight of the general public and the business community due to unbearable taxation which up until then none had dared to do, it set out a course of events that would shake the very foundation of a well established and intricate network of taxation, syndicate system and market monopoly and igniting one of the biggest people’s movement in the history of Nagaland against the culture of impunity, the absence of the rule of law, corruption and nepotism.
The ACAUT described him as a fair-minded, generous and a courageous leader. ACAUT expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that the Lord almighty give the strength and assuage the pain of the family.
Further, ACAUT thanked all people from all walks of lives, who came to pay their last respects to a friend, benefactor and a leader.
JCC: Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) is shocked and saddened by the sudden demise of the DCCI president, late Hokivi Chishi, “who has been very vocal for the rights of the Nagas and a dynamic leader in various capacities”. JCC extended condolence and prayers to his bereaved wife and children. Expressing that his kindness and good deeds shall remain in their hearts forever, JCC also pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
BAN: Business Association Nagas (BAN) is saddened by the demise of late Hokivi Chishi. “As a leader, we have never seen him lacking in enthusiasm or motivation in doing good and standing for the right cause and always ready to tackle any social or market related issues in a very positive and wise approach. The business community in general had so much faith and trust in him that one day he would emerge to be one the most dynamic leader for the betterment of our ailing society” said BAN. While expressing regret over the loss of a dynamic man, BAN prays for solace and comfort to the love and dear ones at this time of grief.
DMC: The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has expressed shock and grief over the untimely demise of late H. Hokivi Chishi, ex-member of DMC, on August 4 at Dimapur Eden Hospital after prolonged illness.
DMC said late Chishi was a dedicated leader who served the societies in various capacities particularly for Dimapur people. He served in DMC as an elected member from Ward No. 19 from February 2, 2005 to February 21, 2010.
DMC lamented that his untimely demise is not only a great loss to his family but also to the society which will be difficult to fill the vacuum.
DMC administrator, Moa Sangtam along with officers and staffs conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and pray to the Almighty to rest his soul in peace.
The Wokha District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WDCCI) is saddened over the untimely demise of late Hokivi Chishi, interim president of Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CNCCI) and president of Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI). Late Chishi is a well renowned Naga Businessman and social worker who is an influential person connected with many people specially the business community, said WDCCI. : The All Sumi Student’s Union (SKK) has expressed pain and grief over the sudden demise of late Hokivi chishi, DCCI president, Naga entrepreneur and social activist. SKK described him as a visionary icon who always belief in the welfare of the society and voluntarily stood for the Nagas and Sumis in particular. SKK expressed that the service rendered by late Chishi to the Naga society will always be remembered. It also lamented that his sudden demise is an irreparable loss to the Nagas in general. The secretary, principal and the teaching and non-teaching staff of Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS) Dimapur has condoled the unexpected demise of late Hokivi Chishi, president, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry. PVHSS recalled that he was a well-wisher of the institution and described him as a dynamic leader, who sacrificed his whole life for the welfare of the down-trodden people. As the President of DCCI his contribution to the people and the business community in particular is immeasurable, PVHSS said. The association said late Chishi was a hard-working honest man who sincerely dedicated his services in bringing unity and peace among the Nagas.
