DIMAPUR — Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Monday extended greetings to the Chang community on the occasion of Poang Lüm.
In his message, the Governor said Poang Lüm reflects the cultural heritage, unity and traditions of the Chang community. He said the festival provides an opportunity to reflect on shared values, strengthen social harmony and foster mutual understanding. He expressed hope that the spirit of Poang Lüm would inspire peace, collective progress and renewed commitment to preserving cultural legacy.
Chief Minister Rio, in a message shared on X, extended warm greetings to the Chang community, describing Poang Lüm as a festival that celebrates friendship, renewal of bonds and the onset of the cultivation season. He wished the community peace, harmony, prosperity and abundant harvests in the year ahead.
In another post, Rio extended greetings to the Mech Kachari community on the occasion of Aai-Sagi. “May this post-harvest festival be a time of gratitude, strengthen friendship and unity, and usher in happiness and prosperity for all,” he wrote.
