DIMAPUR — Governor of Nagaland Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio extended greetings to the Angami community on the occasion of Sekrenyi.
In a message issued from Lok Bhavan, Kohima, on Tuesday, the Governor conveyed warm greetings to “my Angami brothers and sisters” on the auspicious occasion of the festival.
He stated that Sekrenyi, the festival of purification and renewal, reflects the enduring values of unity, discipline and cultural pride.
As the celebration is observed with traditional rituals and community fellowship, the Governor expressed hope that it would inspire harmony, mutual respect and collective progress.

He further called upon the people to reaffirm their commitment to preserving their rich heritage while working together for the peace and prosperity of society.
Conveying greetings through a post on X, the chief minister noted that the Sekrenyi festival of purification, which also marks the rite of passage of youth into adulthood, is a reflection of cherished traditions and identity.
“May Sekrenyi bring good health, a renewed spirit of brotherhood, and unity to all,” he wrote.
