Governor PB Acharya has contributed his full one-month salary towards Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the relief of recent earthquake victims of Nepal and parts of India. In a press communique issued by Deputy Secretary to Governor, George Abraham, Acharya appealed to the public especially the well-to-do and affluent sections of the society to donate generously to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the cause.
“The amount may be sent to the Office of the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Nagaland so that the amount may be consolidated and remitted to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. Raj Bhavan will contribute an amount of Rs.2.50 lakhs out of which Rs 1.10 lakhs will be contributed by the Governor which is his full month’s salary and the remaining Rs. 1.40 lakhs will be contributed by the officers and other employees of Raj Bhavan, Kohima,” the communique said.
