Government teachers trained on post lockdown strategies

Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): The department of School Education, in association with the Pratham Education Foundation, conducted a four-day online training programme on ‘Gurushala’ for nearly 10,000 government school teachers.

‘Gurushala’ is an initiative of Indus Towers Limited and Vodafone India Foundation, a DIPR report stated. It added that nearly 8,700 government school teachers from classes 1 to 8 were trained on the theme ‘Remote techniques for parent and student engagement, assessment methods and post lockdown strategies’ on January 15 and 16, while over 1000 teachers from classes 9 to 12 have participated in the training conducted on the theme ‘Remote techniques for parent and student engagement, content creation and post lockdown strategies’ on January 18 and 19.

The trainings discussed teaching strategies that would help teachers transition smoothly from remote/ online teaching to classroom teaching.

The principal director of School Education, Shanavas C, during the inauguration session said, “Let this be a beginning, because it is high time for our state to venture into alternative methods of education and teaching.”

The online teachers portal ‘www.gurushala.co’ launched by Gurushala curates free and high-quality content for teachers. Gurushala could be downloaded from Google Play Store, the statement read.
