- DIMAPUR — The
Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre (SDGCC), under the Department
of Planning and Transformation, Government of Nagaland, has solicited
nominations for the second edition of the Nagaland SDG Action Awards 2025.
- A DIPR report stated that the initiative seeks to identify,
recognise and support individuals and organisations that are making significant
contributions toward advancing sustainable development in Nagaland. The awards
aim to promote innovative and impactful projects aligned with the sustainable
development goals, fostering progress across economic, social and environmental
dimensions.
- The award on economic sustainability recognises initiative
focused on poverty alleviation, livelihood generation and industrial innovation
contributing to SDGs 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9, while the award on social development
honours interventions supporting healthcare, education, gender equality and
social well-being contributing to SDGs 4, 5, 10, 11, 16 and 17 and the award on
environmental sustainability celebrates efforts addressing waste management,
ecosystem conservation, biodiversity and natural resource protection
contributing to SDGs 6, 7, 12, 13 and 15.

- It informed that one winner would be selected in each
category and each award recipient would receive a cash prize of INR 50,000,
along with an award memento and certificate of recognition.
- Nominations are open to individuals, institutions, private
sector entities, academia, community-based organisations, civil society
organisations and non-governmental organisations operating in Nagaland that
have contributed or are contributing to the SDGs during the years 2023 and
2024.
- It informed that one could self-nominate or nominate others
who have made significant contributions toward the SDGs. For more information
