DIMAPUR — To ensure smooth conduct of the 25th edition of Hornbill Festival, the government has set up a state-level control room at the office of the chief secretary.
The control room will be manned by the chief secretary, Dr. J Alam as chairman along with additional chief secretary, Sentiyanger Imchen, as co-chairman. The other members included commissioner and secretary of Law and Justice, Kikheto Sema; Home Commissioner, Vyasan R; commissioner and secretary of W&H, Kesonyu Yhome; SS (Home), Limasunep; secretary of I&C, Shanavas; secretary of TPT, Robert Longchari; secretary of Home, Orenthung Lotha; joint CEO of NSDMA, Johny Ruangmei; joint director of IPR, Asangla Imsong and deputy director of IT, Daniel Krocha.
The state control room will function 24X7.
The first meeting was held under the chairmanship of the chief secretary on November 27 at Chief Secretary’s conference hall, wherein the committee deliberated at length on the transportation and traffic issues.
The members have sought cooperation from all line departments including key aspects like such as logistics, security arrangements, cultural performances, vendor managements and crowd control to make the event successful and enjoyable for all participants and visitors.
The control room would coordinate with various agencies involved in the Hornbill Festival and deal with emergencies, if any.
