A consultative meeting of government officials and leaders of a number of civil organizations has been scheduled to discuss the liquor prohibition act. The director general of Nagaland police, principal director of the Health and Family Welfare department, project director of the NSACS, director of Kripa Foundation, president of Naga Mothers’ Association, general secretary of the NBCC, and president of the Naga Students’ Federation will be meeting in the consultations.
The consultation is scheduled to be conducted on January 15 at 11:00 am in the conference hall of the chief secretary of Nagaland. The government of Nagaland has constituted an expert committee to study the issues relating to implementation of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act of 1989.
“All the concerned departments/NGOs are requested to attend the meeting positively along with the statistics relating to liquor and alcohol abuse encountered by the departments/NGOs in the last three years,” a note from the organizers informed on Thursday, January 7.
