Dimapur, April 2 (EMN): The Nagaland Governor PB Acharya has wished the Konyak and Phom communities peace, unity and prosperity as they celebrate their festivals, the Aoling and the Monyiu, in that order.
A press note received from the Raj Bhavan on Monday, the governor said that the festivals marked the ‘end of the sowing season’ and that it was a time for jubilation through dance, songs, food and thanksgiving to deities to seek good fortune and blessings.
Emphasising on the cultural heritage of the communities, Acharya encouraged them to safeguard and promote it. He called upon the communities to unite and rededicate to creating a better society.
The governor urged the people to take time and thank the Almighty for his unwavering love and blessing.
The Aoling and Phom Monyiu festivals ought to bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Konyak and Phom communities and the Naga people in general, he added.
