Gov. visits a Naga restaurant in Chennai

Maong Jamir from Nagaland runs the restaurant. He is pursuing PhD studies from Chennai. Acharya and his wife, Kavita Acharya, have lauded Maong and his wife for their passion in taking up entrepreneurship despite excelling in academics. Acharya remarked that both of them were a source of inspiration for many budding entrepreneurs. The governor felt that more educated youth should take up entrepreneurship. “Working for others is a kind of slavery. Be your own and create employment by entering into co-operative entrepreneurship,” Acharya remarked. The governor also lauded the “Naga Reju” for taking effort to popularise Naga cuisine. He encouraged the owners to exhibit and market the beautiful handicrafts and handlooms of Nagaland in their restaurant so as to promote the rich tradition and culture. The governor also suggested using Naga traditional wooden bowls, bamboo mugs, wooden serving spoons, wooden plates etc so as to attract customers and also promote Nagaland products. Acharya and his wife had Naga meal with the owner and workers of the restaurant and congratulated them for their wonderful effort towards spreading the culture of Nagaland.
