Gov. donates 100 wooden plates and spoons to vendors

Photo courtesy/ Organisers.[/caption] Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, Sep. 19: Nagaland governor, PB Acharya, donated 100 wooden plates and 100 spoons for the vendors at the Local Product Daily Market near Super Market in Dimapur on Wednesday. The wooden flatware and cutlery were donated so that the vendors could use them in the market instead of disposable plates and cups. On the same day, a non-governmental organisation from Marwari community under the initiative of Binod Kumar Sethi donated three bags of rice and one bag of lentils. The proprietor of Northeast Marketing Company, A Yanger Jamir, also donated one bag of rice. It may be mentioned here that the governor donated INR two lakh to the Farmer Producers Organisation (FPO) of Dimapur district to buy a pick-up truck for transporting goods and placed an order for 100 wooden plates and 100 spoons for the vendors during a surprise visit at the marketplace on September 7. The FPO, through a press statement, expressed appreciation towards the contributions. The organisation has also appreciated the contributions from Binod Kumar Sethi and the proprietor of Northeast Marketing Company, A Yanger Jamir. While interacting with Eastern Mirror, FPO secretary Neivizonou Nyekha informed that there are reserved stalls in the marketplace for churches, youth organisation, and other fund raising groups. It was also informed that there will be no charges for such organisations. The concerned are requested to avail the opportunity.
