GYAK marks foundation by visiting Destitute Children Home

DIMAPUR — The Gorkha Youth Association Kohima (GYAK) commemorated its 34th foundation day on Wednesday by visiting the residents of Destitute Children Home.
An update from the Association stated that a team led by its president, Narayan Bahadur, along with vice president, Kiran Gurung, and treasurer, Robi Thapa, visited the Home and donated a modest cash donation along with essential supplies including rice, dal, eggs, cooking oil and soaps for the children.
A brief interaction programme was also held with the mother of the Home, Kevileno Chadi, and children during the visit.

Speaking on the occasion, GYAK president Narayan Bahadur highlighted that the visit was aimed at marking the foundation day by extending support to those in need and encouraging the children to remain hopeful and committed to their future.
GYAK also appreciated Chadi for her dedication and commitment in running the destitute home.
During the interaction, Kevileno Chadi shared the purpose behind running the destitute home, stating that the institution was formally registered in 2018 to provide shelter, care and support for underprivileged children.
It stated that the programme reflected the association’s commitment to social responsibility and community service.
