Gorkha Union Kiphire holds its 58th annual general session attended by members from various parts of the district

DIMAPUR — The Gorkha Union Kiphire (GUK), held its 58th annual general session on Sunday, which was attended by members from various parts of the district.
The programme commenced with an invocation prayer offered by Dr. Bhim Sapkota, pastor of Gorkha Baptist Church, Kiphire, seeking divine guidance and blessings for the successful conduct of the session, an update stated.
This was followed by a welcome address by Ramesh Chhetri, convener of Gorkha Union Kiphire, who welcomed the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the significance and objectives of the annual session.
The financial report of the union was presented by Kul Bahadur BK, who placed before the house a detailed account of the union’s financial position, including income and expenditure, underscoring the GUK’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
Dave Sapkota, president of Gorkha Students Union, Kiphire, also presented a report.
Addressing the gathering, Tilak Bahadur Sapkota, president of the GUK, emphasised the importance of unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility among members. He stated that the union plays a crucial role in safeguarding the interests of the Gorkha community and in contributing positively to social harmony and development in the district.
The president further stressed the need for continued cooperation with the local bodies of Kiphire town, noting that collective participation and mutual support are essential for overall development.
Sapkota appealed to all members of the union to extend their wholehearted cooperation to the apex body of Kiphire town to ensure the effective implementation of developmental and community welfare initiatives.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by GUK general secretary Robbie Chhetri.
