Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): The jersey of the Gorkha Panthers FC Chümoukedima (GPFC) was launched by the president of Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA), Vitouto Kuotsu on Sunday at Little Hut Conference Hall.
He called for a collective effort to produce more football stars from Chümoukedima district by providing platforms and wished GPFC the best on behalf of CDFA, an update informed.
Santosh Chettri, Secretary of Chümoukedima Gorkha Union and Manoj Shrestha, President of Chümoukedima Gorkha Youth said the club will open a opportunity to the youths, while United Gorkha Football Club, Nagaland team manager, Anand Gurung lauded the founder of GPFC for having a broad vision.
Convener of GPFC, Jacob Sundas, in his speech, stated that since the GPFC is now a recognised football club under CDFA, he was optimistic that they will try to produce more young Gorkha footballers. During the programme, CDFA also extended assistance to GPFC for the forthcoming Gorkha Cup Football tournament.
GPFC will also take part in the forthcoming Gorkha Cup, organised by United Gorkha FC, Nagaland which will kick start on June 23 at Singrijan village.
