Dimapur, July 26 (EMN): Addressing the joint meeting convened by Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU), on July 21 at Town Hall, Sanis, former NLA deputy speaker, Ralanthung Yanthan said “Good road condition is the mother of all development”. He also encouraged the students to play an active role for development.
During the meeting, issues and agendas were put on and after deliberation a number of drafts and resolutions was prepared and adopted by the house as a reference points for future social agreements and resolutions.
The joint meeting resolved that Wokha-Merapani Road being the life line of Wokha district, LMRSU and associations will not accept and will oppose any forms of taxation and donations that effect development.
Clean election being the trending topics among young intellectuals it also resolved to support and adhere to rules set by the Government on conduct of elections.
A representative from Lotha Middle Range Pastor Association also attended the meeting and encouraged the students to create awareness on Clean Election amongst the students’ community to bring change.
Thanksgiving prayer was offered by Pastor of Hajang Baptist Church, Zero Point Sanis.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nchumbemo Patton, vice president of LMRSU while Pastor Khumvo Baptist Church, Sanis town invoked God’s blessing and vote of thanks was proposed by general secretary of LMRSU, William Yanthan.
The meeting was attended by politicians, church leaders, village leaders, senior leaders, students and others.
The meeting was attended in hundreds from 17 different villages.
