- WOKHA — Golaghat
defeated Wokha in the Nagaland-Assam Cricket Friendship Cup match held on
Saturday at Furkating in Assam.
- The revived Friendship Cup, played after 13 years, was
hosted by the Assam Cricket Association with Golaghat representing Assam and
Wokha representing Nagaland.
- Played in the T20 format, Wokha lost the toss and were asked
to field first. They managed to restrict Golaghat to a target of 142 runs, with
Retunat scoring 58 for Assam.
- While chasing the target, Wokha initially appeared strong
and in control but faltered as regular wickets fell. In the end, they fell
short by just 1 run.
- The next match in the Friendship Cup series will be held in
Wokha, coinciding with the opening of the Winter Cricket Challenge for the
2025-2026 season.
- The captain of Wokha was Khamongo Humtsoe, while the captain
of Golaghat was Hantique.
