GOC of 3 Corps, Arunachal gov. discuss border security issue

Itanagar, Dec. 16 PTI): GOC of 3 Corps Lt Gen Anil Chauhan today met Arunachal Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra here today and discussed Sino-Indian border security in the eastern parts of the state and welfare measures for the locals in the border areas, an official release said. The governor, while appreciating the services rendered by the troops of the Dimapur-based 3 Corps, urged on continuing the welfare activities rendered by the Army jawans for the villagers, the release said. Such initiatives of the Armed Forces will instill a sense of security among the locals and also integrate the border area villages with the people of other parts of the country, Mishra said. The GOC assured the governor that the armed forces would continue to defend every inch of the country s territory and reach out to the local population and maintain cordial relationship with them through awareness campaigns, health camps and educational initiatives, the release added.
