Dimapur, Sep. 22 (EMN): The The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Corps, Lieut. Gen. Gopal R, AVSM, SM visited Sainik School Punglwa on Sep. 22 and exhorted the cadets to develop a thirst for knowledge and undertake social responsibility in the future.
Speaking at a special assembly programme organised in honour of his visit, Lieut. Gen. Gopal said that it was his long planned wish to visit the school and honoured to be among the cadets. He told the cadets that they are the blessed ones who are the potential officers under training and the future of the great country.
Advising them to have a thirst for knowledge, the Lieut. Gen. asked the cadets not be distracted with the latest generation gadgets but inculcate the habit of reading books.
While emphasising on the importance of education in one’s life, the GOC asserted that there is nothing which is known as ‘luck’ as luck comes naturally to anyone who works hard.
The army’s 3 Corps chief was briefed by the principal of the school about and was shown the school’s academic block, Capt. Kenguruse Mess and school campus.
