Dimapur, Aug. 31 (EMN): Under the instruction issued by Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal, General Manager of N.F. Railway is scheduled to hold discussion with the Members of Parliament during the month of September.
The chief public relations officer, NF Railway in Maligaon issued a press release on Friday stating that the railway minister had personally written to all Members of Parliament of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha to attend these meeting and offer their suggestions on railway related issues pertaining to their states and constituencies. By this, the railway intends to make its policy making more inclusive so that the needs of the local people are accorded paramount importance.
The press release also stated that discussion are planned to be held with local MPs in Rangiya, Tinsukia, Alipuduar, Katihar, and Lumding Division on September 7, 12, 18, 24, and 28 September.
It is to be mentioned that railway already has systems in place like DRUCC (Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee) and ZRUCC (Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee) which meet regularly for deliberations and exchange of views on various issues pertaining to passenger amenities, cleanliness, catering, and punctuality.
