Global Naga Forum mourns NNC president Gen. Thinoselie M Keyho, recalling his lifelong service to the Naga national cause
DIMAPUR — The Global Naga Forum (GNF) has mourned the passing of Naga National Council (NNC) president Gen. (Rtd) Thinoselie M Keyho, who passed away on October 29, describing him as an exemplary leader devoted to Naga nationalism.
In a condolence message, the GNF said Gen. Thinoselie’s life was marked by commitment, perseverance and principled leadership, adding that his passing was a moment for the Naga people to reflect on the values and principles that should guide future generations.
Thinoselie began his service to the Naga national cause in 1956 as Secretary to the Director of Intelligence of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN/NNC).
His service included multiple missions to East Pakistan and China, as well as periods of imprisonment in Tihar Jail and Shillong.
The GNF noted that despite changing challenges and perceived threats, he remained steadfast in his convictions and the aspirations of Naga national pioneers. He was appointed NNC president in 2016 and continued in the position until his death.
He also served as president of the Angami Public Organisation, contributing to both his community and the larger Naga society.
The forum described his leadership as one rooted in sacrifice, courage, integrity and responsibility rather than personal recognition or advancement.
Extending condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues and associates, the GNF said his legacy of honour, integrity and commitment would continue to inspire generations.
It added that while he may be gone, his contributions to the Naga national cause would remain a lasting part of his legacy.
