Dimapur, April 6 (EMN): With an assurance to the citizens of Wokha to give his best eforts to developing the district, Nagaland deputy chief minister Yanthungo Patton has appealed to the landowners to ‘freely donate land.’
Patton said this while speaking at the thanksgiving programme hosted by him at his residential complex at NST colony in Wokha on April 6. Updates from the DPRO on Friday informed about the event.
The minister was of the view that Wokha was blessed with resources albeit unexploited to its fullest potential yet. Patton said that the district had what it takes to play an important role in reshaping the economy of Nagaland. In this regard, he urged the citizens with this word: the district should no longer be at the mercy of issues about land or land ownership. Thanking the people of 37th Tiyi assembly constituency for reposing their faith in him and re-electing him to represent them, Patton appealed for continued support and cooperation from stakeholders, Civil Society and the people of the district in general ‘as winning also comes with more responsibilities.’
Speaking about issues of road connectivity in the district, Patton said that ‘we need to see immediate attention for road linkage from Zunheboto-Wokha-Bokajan-Dimapur and Chanki-Mekokla, Sanis-Bokajan Dimapur Road.’
Once the road is developed, he said, the district can fill the gap of food deficiency of the state.
