Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): Encouraging the students community to actively partake in co-curricular activities, advisor for rural development, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire has asked the students and colleges to give due importance to sports and music as these activities have become the most paid professions in modern times. Gracing the ongoing All Nagaland college students’ union (Ancsu) collegiate meet - 2018 as a special invitee at the beat contest being held at Dimapur government college, Kire appealed the students to follow their dreams and be the best in their own chosen fields. However, he stressed on the importance participation and not necessarily on winning in different competitions. “While it is important to win, it is more important to participate,” the Ancsu quoted the advisor in a press release issued on Thursday. The Ancsu social and cultural secretary, Keneitsituo Kense delivered a brief note on holding the beat contest. Atokali D Chishi and Ruopfukuolie Chutso were the hosts for the evening, the Ancsu stated. A total of eleven bands took part in the contest. Meanwhile, minister for higher and technical education, Temjen Imna Along, who is the chief host of the collegiate meet, had a session with the students on the Nov. 14 evening. On the last day of the meet on Nov. 16, former president of Naga Students’ Federation, Kelhouneizo Yhome and well-known entrepreneur, Tito Yepthomi will be the match patrons for the football final and volleyball final matches respectively.
