Dimapur, November 12: Under the initiative of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), a residential hostel for girls was formally inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of District Mission Authority, SSA, Sushil Kumar Patel, at Arkong Ward, Mokokchung town, on November 11.
Stating that government has given all out efforts to uplift the educational system in the country, Patel said the main objective of the students should be to perform well and show certain outcome to the government.
Encouraging the students, the DC said being in the hostel is an opportunity to inculcate discipline among themselves. He added one must know how to behave with people besides getting good marks.
DEO & Coordinator of District Mission Authority, SSA, I Satemmenla delivered the welcome speech, while special number was presented by the hostellers. Assistant District Coordinator, District Mission Authority, SSA, I Chuba proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was chaired by IED Coordinator, Chubainla, and L Alemtemsu said the invocation.
The hostellers were selected from among the economically and socially deprived sections of people. At present there are 24 girls from 4 middle schools in Mokokchung town.
