Mokokchung, March 23 (EMN): Mokokchung district administration and the district-level centre for women- Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) kick-started the week-long ‘Girls for Change’ campaign in Mokokchung on March 22.
The campaign kicked off with an awareness programme on menstrual health and hygiene and gender equality at GMS Imrong in Ungma village with Moamenla Longkumer, women welfare officer of DLCW-MSK, as the resource person.
After the programme, dignity and education kits were distributed to all the adolescent girls of the school. The DLCW-MSK (BBBP) team also visited GMS GMS Kumlong A and B, GMS Salangtem, GMS Town and GMS Pongentola, where the team conducted awareness sessions with the girl students of the schools.
The Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) and nodal officer of DLCW-MSK (BBBP) Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum, stated that the ‘Girls for Change’ campaign would be a week-long campaign initiated by the district administration and the district level centre for women - Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Mokokchung.
The team also visited GMS Aliba village, GMS Sabangya, GMS Khensa, GMS Marepkong, GMS Alempang, GMS Tongdentsuyong, GMS Senkalemba and GMS Sungkomen on March 23.
