Dimapur, Oct. 5 (EMN): Celebrating its 25th year of glorious existence, Government High School Sechü (Zubza) commemorated the silver anniversary at its school premises with Keneizhakho Nakhro, MLA from 8 Western Angami Assembly Constituency as a special guest and a hoard of dignitaries and others. A newly constructed school building, built with funds under RMSA 2016-2017, was also inaugurated on the occasion by the principal of school education, Menukhol John.
MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro, while speaking at the programme, lauded the school governing authority, students, parents, teachers and the pioneers for their selfless sacrifices in making the jubilee a grand success. While lamenting that the government schools with highly qualified teachers fail to deliver quality education as compared to private schools, the legislator called upon the teachers to be sincere and give their best in the days to come by introspecting and correcting what might have went wrong in the past.
Also saying that poor performances in government schools are mainly due to the failure on the part of the students, teachers and parents, Nakhro urged the parents, teachers and the students to have a better coordination for the betterment of the school to progress ahead. The MLA particularly asked the students to study hard to excel, as it is the students who have to walk the way to reach the destination.
Principal secretary of school education, Menukhol John, who was a guest of honour, encouraged the students to study hard by giving their best ability. He also encouraged the students to work hard and keep on pressing toward the mark, to have a dream and dream big, as nothing is impossible if there is a dream.
Saying that the school cannot run on individual ideas alone but function only when there is team spirit, John called upon the teachers, parents, students and village elders to jointly work for the betterment of the school. He assured to help the school from the department side in every possible way when a need arise.
