Dimapur, Nov. 19 (EMN): Government High School Longchem under Mokokchung district celebrated its Golden Jubilee (1968-2018) on Nov. 16 at GHS Longchem with minister for higher and technical education, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer as the special guest who unveiled the jubilee monolith.
The special guest, Longkumer, while congratulating on the great achievement on attaining its 50th anniversary, said that when achieving such a milestone in life, one need to remember God and ask Him for strength, wisdom and knowledge. He encouraged the students to plan for the future and work had to achieve it under any circumstance.
He regarded government high school Longchem as ‘the heartbeat of the emotions of the people of Japukong’ as it has produced lots of able and good leaders.
Saying that if the youngsters of today do not struggle, they would not be able to face hardships later on in life, Longkumer said the future generation should not be people who shy away from trouble but should be fighters and added that the people should work hard for progress and lead the community forward.
Earlier, Athrong EAC and Chairman SMC delivered the welcome address while Director (retd.) soil and water conservation, T. Imkongmar Aier narrated about how the school started and his memories of the school days.
