DIMAPUR — The welcome gate at Mitelephe
village, Kohima district, was inaugurated on Monday with Chief Conservator of
Forest (CCF) and Project Director, Forest and Biodiversity Management in the
Himalayas (FBMP), Supongnukshi as the chief guest.
In his speech, the CCF lauded the efforts of the village
council, community conservation area committee (CCA-C) and the village
community for successfully erecting the village welcome gate, 61 years after
the village was established, the Kohima Forest Division stated in a press
release.
Mentioning that “future projects depend on the present
works,” Supongnukshi encouraged the villagers to take up projects in the future
with honesty and diligence. He also informed that the welcome gate was funded
by the German Development Bank (KfW), for which the project was monitored
carefully by the agents of the German government.
Zachütuo Yietsu, pastor of BRC Mitelephe, offered the
dedicatory prayer.
Pelevituo Tsochü, VDB secretary and CCA-C chairman,
Mitelephe, gave a brief report on the project implementation in the village.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Kethowelie Khamo, VCC
Mitelephe, expressed sincere gratitude to the Forest department for assisting
the village in constructing the much needed asset (village gate).
The inauguration programme was led by Medolezo Tepa, while
Suohienuo Angela, catechist, Catholic Church Mitelephe, invoked God’s blessings
for the programme.
The village women group, Thenupfuko presented a special
number and Khasüdi Tepa, head GB, proposed the vote of thanks.
“It may be mentioned that Mitelephe is a Batch-2 Village
selected for implementation of FBMP,” the release informed.
