Dimapur, May 31 (EMN): Directorate of Geology & Mining has notified to all all stakeholder departments, quarry operators, government registered contractors & supplier, construction companies, engineers, architects, that the department shall regulate, control, administer all minor minerals in the State, such as; sand, gravels, boulders, stone chips, bricks, clay, sand stone, limestone, marble etc. as listed in schedule-II of the NMMCR, 2004.
All stakeholders, quarry operators, brick kiln operators, stone crusher units, sand supplier & stockiest etc. have been requested to do registration with the Directorate of Geology and Mining and obtain quarry permits, mining lease etc. from the department with immediate effect in the interest of public service.
All licensees, operators, transporters, traders, government registered contractors & suppliers were also directed to pay royalty on all minor minerals being used for construction materials such as; sand, gravels, boulders, stone chips, bricks, clay, sand stone, limestone, marble etc. to the government through the Nodal department, Directorate of Geology and Mining as per the rate of royalty prescribed in schedule-I of the NMMCR, 2004.
The stakeholder of both Central and State agencies involving in civil construction works such as; CPWD, border roads, PWD, power, irrigation, RD etc. and those departments having civil engineering wings were requested to deduct royalty on sand, boulders, stone chips in all the bills and pay to the revenue head of account of the Nodal department, Directorate of Geology and Mining. The revenue may be deposited under the revenue Head of account - 0853- Non--ferrous Mines and Metallurgical Industries, payable to the Director, DGM and furnish a copy of Treasury challan/Demand Draft to the Director of Directorate of Geology and Mining, Dimapur.
