Gaipuinam team banned for 3 editions

Dimapur, November 21: In an emergency meeting of the Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA) and organising committee (JMFT) on November 20, the association has unanimously banned Gaipuinam (GUFA) team for 3 consecutive editions. “The meeting unanimously decided and resolved to ban the “Gaipuinam (GUFA) Team” for the three (3) consecutive “Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament” i.e., 11th , 12th & 13th Tournament for the ‘unwanted and unruly conduct, damage, physical assault and undisciplined situation’ as per ZFA Disciplinary Committee Code, 2016,” a press release stated. The meeting, according to the statement, examined the ‘unruly conduct’ of attempt to physical assault which could have led to major casualties and the ‘derogatory remarks’ of Gaipuinam (GUFA) fans against ZFA and organizing committee members on November 20 after the pre-quarter match played between ‘Gaipuinam (GUFA) and Longmai (LBYC)’ at THAU Sports Complex, Thangmeiband, Imphal West.
