Vizosielie & Ziekiezotuo emerge winner in amateur category

Driver Gagan Sethi with co-driver Dhiraj Arora and driver Vizosielie Rupreo with co-driver Ziekiezotuo Lhoungu today won the professional and amateur categories of the 7th JK Tyre Hornbill Motor Rally.
The rally flagged off from Dimapur this morning with 43 teams, comprising three in the professional category and 40 in the mature race, culminated at Naga Heritage Village Kisama under the aegis of Nagaland Adventure and Motor Sports Association (NAMSA) and supported by JK Tyres.Gracing the award ceremony held in the main arena at Kisama, Chief Minister TR Zeliang said that motor rally organized by NAMSA has made the Hornbill Festival more eventful.
“We know that adventure of any kind is not an easy job, with this kind of adventure America was also discovered in 17th century while Mt. Everest was also conquered and today many people have discovered Nagaland through this rally,” he said.
Maintaining that motorsports is one of the most popular sports, he urged NAMSA to carry forward the spirit of adventure to other parts of the country.
Zeliang also maintained that Hornbill Festival is a platform to exhibit various activities so one has to avail this opportunity.
Representative from JK Tyre, Hari Singh said JK Tyre nurtured and developed the Hornbill Rally in a bid to provide opportunity to regional motorsports enthusiasts to express their talent and skill, be it driving or navigation. The rally is now an integral part of the Hornbill Festival. He also asserted to continue to support the event in the future too.
