
Dimapur, Jan. 29 (EMN): Wokha beat Peren by 38 runs in the first match of the ongoing G Rio memorial U-19 (Boys) inter-district tournament at Nagaland Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Winning the toss, Wokha put up a total score of 179 runs losing all wickets in 39.1 overs. Lichumthung scored 34 runs, while John Shitiri and Chonben Kithan scored 25 runs each.
Ranjen and Bamyibe Npanme collected five and three wickets respectively for Peren.
Chasing the score, Peren was bundled out for 141 runs in 33.4 overs. Rohit Sah scored 40 runs, Vishal scored 34 runs and Bamyibe Npanme scored 22 runs for Peren.
Renjathung Tungoe and Thechamo Odyuo secured three wickets each for Wokha.
In the second match played at Sovima Cricket Ground, Tuensang won the toss against Mokokchung and managed to put up a total score of 67 runs all out in 21.5 overs. Jongpongmar Ao (20 runs) and Gautam Singh (12 runs) managed to score a double figure for the team.
For Mokokchung, Imlitongzuk scalped five wickets, while Imnawapang Walling took three wickets.
While batting, Mokokchung reached the target in just 9.2 overs losing two wickets. Nripen Rai 21 runs and Monu Kumar 19 runs remained not out as they steered their team to victory.
For Tuensang, Barahul and Rahul Das got a wicket each. Mokokchung won the match by eight wickets.
On Jan. 30 (Sunday), Tuensang takes on Wokha, while Mokokchung plays against Peren.
