The All Nagaland College Students' Union appeals to Nagaland University to resolve FYUGP evaluation anomalies and address arbitrary college re-evaluation fees.
DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland College Students' Union (ANCSU) has submitted an urgent appeal to the vice-chancellor of Nagaland University, Lumami, expressing deep concern over numerous student grievances following the declaration of the recent Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) Semester Examination results.
In a letter to the vice-chancellor, the union expressed its anguish over what it described as the university's unprofessional and insincere approach to declaring semester results.
The union highlighted several issues, including cases where students with consistent academic performance were allegedly declared unsuccessful, others received single-digit scores, and some who chose history as their minor subject were incorrectly recorded as having education, resulting in backlogs.
These anomalies, the union stated, have created apprehension regarding the accuracy, fairness, and transparency of the evaluation process.
While acknowledging that examinations naturally produce successful and unsuccessful candidates, the union stated that recurring reports of low marks and inconsistencies warrant an immediate, impartial review to prevent jeopardising the academic future of students.

The ANCSU also raised concerns over the existing provision that permits re-evaluation only for candidates who secure a minimum of 20 per cent of the total marks. This criterion, it argued, deprives students who may have suffered from evaluation or tabulation errors, particularly those with single-digit marks, of an opportunity for redressal.
The ANCSU demanded an immediate review of the evaluation and tabulation process in subjects with high reporting of discrepancies. It also urged the university to permit all students, regardless of marks, to apply for re-evaluation subject to their college principal's recommendation and to complete the re-evaluation process within a reasonable timeframe.
Additionally, the union appealed to all colleges to strictly adhere to the university-prescribed fee of INR 450 per paper and prohibit unauthorised charges.
