
Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): The Franciscan Sisters of St. Mary of the Angels (FSMA) joined the entire world in celebrating the International Day of People with Disability at Angel Home with the special children and their parents in Signal Angami, Dimapur.
An update from FSMA stated that sister Tejohonu welcomed the gathering and conveyed World Disability Day greetings, while Rev. Fr. Jenson, rector of St. Vincent’s Seminary, led in prayer and encouraged the parents not to give up hope but believe in the abilities of their children.
It also stated that sister Riya explained the types of disabilities which enabled parents to know the disabilities of their children. Stating that they are amazing in their own ways, she urged the parents to understand the abilities of their children and help them develop.
Short video clips of persons with disabilities who achieved their goals were also shown, which inspired the parents and also motivated the children to achieve their goals in life.
On the occasion, the Angel Home appreciated the parents for taking care of the special people with great dedication. It further stated that parents came forward to share their experiences.
