DIMAPUR — Sao Chang College, Tuensang, welcomed its new batch of BA and B.Sc. 1st semester students with an orientation programme held on July 7 at the college’s multipurpose hall.
Chaired by Y ToninaroChongpho, Assistant Professor of Sociology, the event began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Lanurenla, who spoke on the college’s vision and commitment to holistic education, an update stated.
The orientation featured brief and informative presentations on key aspects of college life.

Vice Principal Dr. T Lal Veda Chandra Kumar outlined the college’s rules, academic structure, and examination protocols. Tekameren Walling from the Botany department introduced the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).
A Chubasangla Chang highlighted student support systems through the Grievances and Internal Complaints Committee, while the PTA coordinator emphasised parental involvement. Mantok Konyak, Librarian, provided an overview of library facilities and services.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by the chairperson. Attendance was made mandatory for all first-semester students along with a parent or guardian.
“The orientation served as a vital introduction to academic and campus life, fostering a positive start for students and strengthening college-community ties,” the update stated.
