KOHIMA — A free medical camp was organised for students from Nursery up to Class 6 at Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School, Kohima, in collaboration with the 13 Assam Rifles on Wednesday.
Chairman of Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School, Medozho Zango, said that after assuming the role of school chairman this year, a meeting was held with the students and faculty. The teachers highlighted that student distraction is often linked to complaints of blurred vision, and they recommended eye screening.
In response, they decided to organise a medical camp and reached out to one of the alumni, who is now a practicing physician, to lead the initiative.
Principal of Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School, Monica Chowdhury, noted that in today's busy world, health often takes a back seat, especially for children. The medical camp serves as a reminder that prevention is better than cure, she said, adding that a healthy child lives better and dreams bigger.
